Where the shifter bottom is inserted into the shifter fork the instructions require two (2) flat washers on either end of the ball bearings. These washers are on the INSIDE of the fork. Holding them in place on the shifter, on either end of the bearings, while locating and inserting the connecting bolt can be next to impossible. I solved the problem by using scotch tape. I wrapped the tape around bottom of the shifter to hold the washers in place. To locate the shifter in the fork, I inserted a golf tee and it lined up the holes, while punching thru the tape. When everything is centered, you can insert the bolt and fasten with the nylon lock nut. The scotch tape wears away almost instantly. gordo
